Valentine Udoka Ndubisi |
Valentine Udoka Ndubisi was born and raised in Nimo in Anambra State, Nigeria. He attended the University Primary School, Nsukka High School and Enugu State Technical College where he studied automobile engineering. He graduated in 1993 as an Automobile Engineer. Valentine began his acting career quite early in the theatre in 1977 with the drama David and Goliath which aired on local television. His first experience in the movie industry took place in Nigeria in 1990 in which he performed in an action movie, The Secret Coming. In the movie, Valentine played a principal role as a captain in the army. Other Nigeria movies found on Valentine’s resume include The New Booty, The Bottle Neck, The Battle of Musanga, The Golden Fleece, Rituals, The Naughty Jeff, The Eye Witness, and Taboo. To further his acting career, in 1997 Valentine traveled across the globe to the United States empowered with a dream to win an Oscar Award. His first American movie breakthrough came as a principal role in the 2003 Paramount Picture film, The Fighting Temptations. He played Kano, the young man sitting in the barber’s chair. Other American films to have been privileged with a performance from Valentine include Unforgiven Sins (Ebony Egg Productions-2006), The Sun Will Rise (Capital Gain Film-2005), Cellies (Independent Motion Picture-2005), Sweet Potato Pie (Independent Motion Picture-2005), Concrete Brown (48 Hour Motion Picture Project-2005), Some Bodies (Athens Film Foundation-2004), A Message from Pop (Independent Motion Picture-2004) and several other projects. |
